Let B'town stars show you how to handle a bad hair day HAIR By Kankana Roy Jain

We all have those days of flat limp hair, frizz that won’t go away and bumpy ponytails that make us look borderline comical. Bad hair days are for real and they aren’t going away anywhere anytime soon! But fret not, cause we have you covered to deal with bad hair days, with ideas from the most stylish B’town stars. Take a cue from your favourite actors on how to battle bad hair days and salvage your look.

Bandannas
Don a bandanna like Bipasha to cover up your tresses on a bad hair day and bring some country girl charm to your look.

The teased chignon
Bad hair days are synonymous with untamed and frizzy hair. Take advantage of that. Tease out your messy hair a little more with a brush. Twirl and swirl it around, and then use hairagami or fast bun maker as it is commonly known to make a messy, teased but super sophisticated chignon like Dippy’s. The compliments will keep pouring through the day.

Bed head
Spray on the miracle ingredient called dry shampoo onto your hair. Let it stay for 2-5 minutes. Scrunch it up into a bun and then leave your hair down just before leaving the house. Your hair will fall in beautiful waves. The good news is your natural waves will stay better in dirty hair as compared to smooth, freshly washed hair. If you don’t have dry shampoo available, just take a fistful of talcum powder or good old baking soda and that should do the trick.

Top knots
Channel diva vibes like Alia in a super chic top knot for days when your hair in not on its best behaviour.

Braids and curls
Put your braiding skills to use like Sunny has when you have a long day ahead and no time to style or wash your hair. Keep the braid through the day and let your hair loose in the evening, if you have a dinner or event to go to. You will have natural gorgeous curls that will just need a brush through.

Sleek pony
Apply some serum on your hair, or put your naturally oily hair to the best use. Make a defined middle parting and pull your hair into a neat ponytail like Deepika’s. No one will ever know you are having a bad hair day.

Side braids
Side braids are another wonderful thing to do with frizzy and slightly chaotic hair. Spray some hairspray on, let it sit and then lightly brush through your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Now partition your hair along the sides and whip up a side braid. Pull the rest of the hair into a pony with the side braid to look elegant and feminine.

Flip ponytail
It’s Kajol to the rescue again. When nothing else works and the clock is ticking away, just take your hair and scrunch it into a side pony. Applying a little gel or wetting your hair slightly before you do this may just prevent the bumpy ponytail syndrome. However, a little bump doesen’t look too bad when it comes to a side or flip pony and that is why it’s our favourite hairstyle when nothing else works. Also it creates the illusion of fuller hair than a normal ponytail.

Cap it
When all else fails, just don the cap like the Kaif sisters and you are sorted. However, this is a strict, casual day look only.

Berets
And talking of caps and hats, essay some Parisian chic vibes like Miss. Basu with the very sophisticated beret. It spells class and style and honestly, we don’t even need a bad hair day to sport this fashion police -approved head gear.

Pinned in place bun
Kamal Hassan’s little girl aces the unwashed hair look with a sleek side parted bun and a dozen bobby pins to keep the annoying flyaways tamed and pinned down. Definitely a go-to office look!

Straighten your hair
Run a straightener through your hair and make them smooth and sleek like Illeana’s. The heat and the ironing will lend immediate sheen, volume and better shape to your hair.

Change the parting
An easy hack to restore volume in your hair when it’s looking too flat is simply to change your parting. If you usually do a middle parting, change it to a side or just swap your side parting from left to right or vice versa, depending on which is your regular parting. You could also go for a zigzag parting to jazz things up a bit.

Get a haircut
If your bad hair days are becoming a little too common, the bangs have ridiculously outgrown themselves and you have done the messy bun to death, just get a fabulous new haircut like Amrita Arora and life will look sunny again.
