The wedding date is set, and you’re all geared up and taking care of all the wedding preps. With so many things to do in set time, you might be feeling
the stress taking a toll. But too much stress is not good for you and you need to catch the signs early . One of the main problems caused by stress is hair fall. Here’s how you can counter it and get your mane to look beautiful for D-Day.
What exactly causes hair fall?
One of body’s most important hormones, cortisol, is also called the stress hormone as stress can affect the production of cortisol. High stress leads to increased production of cortisol. When the body increases the production of cortisol, it doesn’t give enough attention to the production of other required hormones, including that which helps in healthy hair. This causes telogen effluvium.
How to counter hair loss?
Eat protein-rich food: From pulses and dals to chicken and fish, increase your protein intake.
Don’t brush out wet hair: Let the hair dry out before you brush it.
Don’t use a high heat dryer: Towel dry it carefully, and then let it dry naturally. If at all you do need to use a dryer, keep it at a minimal heat setting.
Use a green tea treatment: Green tea contains antioxidants that help lessen hair loss and increase hair growth. Boil two bags of the tea in one cup. Once the tea cools a little, apply it to your hair and keep it on for an hour. Rinse it off thoroughly after the hour is up.
Massage your scalp and hair with oil: Almond oil and amla oil are very helpful in curbing hair loss, and coconut oil promotes hair growth. Mix these together and massage your hair and scalp with them. Massaging scalp promotes good circulation and keeps your hair follicles active. You can heat up the oil and use it on hair.
Use a fenugreek hair pack: Soak fenugreek (methi) seeds overnight. Grind it into a paste in the morning. Apply it to your scalp and keep it for half an hour before washing it off with cold water.
Give yourself a vitamin boost: Different vitamins come with different benefits for your hair like Vitamin E which stimulates blood circulation, which is important in keeping your hair follicles productive.
