haircut. While you think that not cutting your hair will help you achieve those Rapunzel-esque locks, what you don’t realise is that you’re damaging them even further.
The first step to restoration lies in accepting that your hair needs restoring. And that comes with a lovely haircut. If you’re waking up with an angry mane every other day, here are the tell-tale signs that your hair needs a trim, or more.
1. It’s falling more than usual
Losing hair in the shower? Keep finding it on your pillow? Your hairbrush is more hair than bristles? Well, that means your hair is weak and brittle and therefore needs a whole lot of TLC.
2. It has lost shape
Your hair loses shape as it grows out and when you’ve outgrown the style, you end up going from a lovely layered haircut, to a Christmas tree. That’s when you need to visit your stylist and get it restyled. This way, you will also chop off any dead ends that make your hair look lifeless.
3. You’ve got too many split ends
If you’ve got way too many split ends, you’re due for a haircut. Wrap your ends around your finger and see how it looks. If it’s smooth, with a couple of strands sticking out, you’re good to go. However, if your hair looks more porcupine-like, then it’s probably time.
4. It’s falling flat
When they say hair gets lifeless, they mean it. If your hair loses volume it usually tends to fall flat, which means you need to revive it with a haircut to get it back to shape.
5. It tangles easy
The moment you realise you’re waking up with a crow’s nest in your hair, you need to head to your nearest salon. As your hair grows longer, it tends to knot up more. The detangling process is quite harsh on the follicles and hair tends to break when too much force is applied. That takes us back to sign number 1—in other words, you need a haircut.
