How to blow dry your hair like a pro!

Who doesn't like the professional blow-dry and the glossy bounce? But heading to a salon every week or trying blow-dry techniques at home is always a bummer. To get it right, we got the steps to achieve salon-ready hair at home. Celebrity hairstylist, Asgar Saboo breaks down the steps to recreate salon-worthy hair at home:

Pre-dry your hair in the right way:

Pre-drying your hair in the right way makes it easy to manage later. After washing, towel dry your hair for some time. Then, slightly detangle your hair with a wide-toothed comb, to minimise breakage.

Prep your hair

Smooth over towel-dried hair with a small amount of serum or even a natural oil like coconut or argan oil. Use this only on the ends, starting from the ear level to avoid greasiness.

For curly hair, maintain your curls using a volumising mousse or curl-enhancing product to set them. Lastly, brush through with the wide-toothed comb and spread the product evenly. If you have damaged and dry hair, make sure you use a heat protection spray.

Section for a quick blow dry

For thick hair, sectioning hair will make the process easy and quick. Start by creating a horizontal parting along the back of your hair. Drying the bottom layers first will help you to easily dry your hair throughout.

Give your hair some shape
The perfect blow-dry is about focusing the direction of the hair when it is drying. For this, it is best to use the concentrator nozzle of your hairdryer.

Using a barrel brush, take a small section of hair and lay the top end over the brush. With the hairdryer on high heat but medium power, hold it adjacent to the hair and pull along the brush. Curl the brush under slightly when you reach the end of the hair to ensure it falls with a soft finish.

For curly hair, using a brush will only create more frizz. So it is best to use your fingers. Keep scrunching and holding your hair under the heat.

Get the extra volume
Using volumising mousse will give your hair some bounce. But if you want extra volume, use Velcro rollers to get that lift and even curls if desired.
Focusing on the top layers, particularly for thicker hair, separate individual sections and place the roller at the roots underneath your hair. Pull the roller along the hair and when you reach the ends, roll it back under near your scalp. If your rollers don't stick, use bobby pins for extra grip or even a medium hold spray. After securing the rollers, give a final spray and gently blow dry your hair on low setting mode.

Complete the look

The final step is all about adding finesse and extra shine. For a bouncy blow dry, remove the rollers and shake your hair gently but don't run your fingers through the curls to avoid frizz.
Position your hair around your shoulders to beautifully frame your face. For a sleek style, carefully brush through the hair with a paddle brush to eliminate stray hairs and give a soft finish. Lastly, spritz your hair with a shine serum and a holding spray
