  • Are you losing hair only from your scalp or from other parts of your body as well?
  • Is there a pattern to the hair loss like a receding hairline, thinning or bald areas on the hair loss throughout your head?
  • Have you had a recent illness or high fever?
  • What kind of hair products do you use on your hair?
  • Do you have any other symptoms like itching, flaking, or redness of your scalp?
Diagnostic test may be performed such as microscopic examination of plucked hair or hair biopsy, although, it may be rarely needed.

Another option is to undergo hair transplant (also called hair restoration or hair implantation). The only downside with this procedure is that it’s quite expensive since it will depend on how much hair you’ll be needing. In addition to that, your insurance will not cover this kind of procedure. Normally, it will range from $4,000 to $15,000.
There are two types of transplant procedures: slit grafts and micro-grafts. The former usually contains 4 to 10 hairs per graft, whereas, the latter contains one or two hairs per graft, depending on the needed amount of coverage.
After the procedure, the surgeon might require you to take medications such as pain medication, antibiotics to reduce your risk of infection, and anti-inflammatory medications. Some people can return to work several days after surgery to give chance for your transplant to settle down.
You might notice some of your newly transplanted hairs are falling out. This is normal so there is no need for you to be alarmed. The old hairs are falling out to make way for new hairs to grow at the graft site. It might take some time before your new hair to become visible (normally 1 cm per month) so you don’t have to feel frustrated. It would take around 4-5 months for you to see the results of the procedure.
  3. LOW-LEVEL LASER THERAPY

According to Bauman Medial, low-level laser therapy or LLLT is a non-chemical, non-invasive treatment that being used around the U.S. for the treatment of hair loss. The procedure helps promotes hair growth as it is believed to increase blood flow in the scalp and stimulate metabolism in catagen or telogen follicles, resulting in the production of anagen hair.
It is said that some patients tend to respond better than others. Sadly, this treatment is still under investigation for a variety of health indications. Up until now, there are no clinical evidence to validate its effectiveness, however, since a lot of patients have shown positive responses to this therapy therefore they would still prefer to go for this option.

The average lifespan of hair replacement system usually lasts up to one year. However, it will normally remain on your head up to 3 to 4 weeks so regular retouching is advised.
